Early Life and Education
Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan on May 16, 1965, Nurymbek Nogaybayev embarked on his artistic journey at the Almaty Art College, graduating in 1984. He further pursued his education at the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow, graduating in 1993 under the tutelage of renowned theater designer Mikhail Kurilko-Ryumin.
Artistic Career
Nogaybayev's artistic repertoire encompasses set design, graphic art, and lithography. He holds membership in the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the UNESCO International Federation of Artists. As a recipient of the "Bolashak" presidential scholarship, he has left a lasting imprint on the Moscow gallery scene as a permanent contributor to the "Visit" gallery.
Film and Theater
In 1994, Nogaybayev starred in the leading role of Timur in the film "The Bell Ringer," directed by Akan Karakulov. The film won the Grand Prix at the Taormina International Film Festival in Italy. His theater credits include a 1995 internship at the Taganka Theater in Moscow, where he played a pivotal role in restoring the design for Jean-Baptiste Molière's "Tartuffe" under Yuri Lyubimov. He also worked as an intern at the Bolshoi Theater and created the curtain for the Royal Opera House's "Young Ballet" production.
Awards and Recognition
Nogaybayev's exceptional skills have been recognized through numerous awards, including a Special Prize for "Best Scenographer" at the 1998 Festival of Performances in Almaty. His works have been showcased in over 60 group exhibitions across Russia, Kazakhstan, and internationally, featuring venues in London, Glasgow, Prague, Hong Kong, Paris, Spartanburg, and Washington.
Personal Life
Nurymbek Nogaybayev comes from a family steeped in the arts. His father, Idris Nogaybayev, was a renowned Soviet Kazakh actor, while his mother, Farida Sharipova, was a prominent Soviet Kazakh actress.
