Biography of Chino XL

Derek Keith Barbosa, better known as Chino XL, was born in 1974 in the Bronx, New York, to an African-American mother and a Puerto Rican father. His music career began in 1990 when he joined the duo "Art of Origin," which he later left. However, his solo career as a rapper went much more successfully. His first solo album, "Here to Save You All," achieved significant success, and Chino XL earned a reputation as a "philosopher, poet, and intellectual all in one." His music was underground, and not easily understood by everyone.
