Biography of Chris Froome
Early Life and CareerChris Froome is a British professional road racing cyclist of Kenyan descent, currently riding for Team Sky. He was born in Kenya and moved to South Africa with his parents at a young age. In 2008, he became a British citizen and has since competed under the flag of Great Britain. Froome made his debut on the international stage in 2006, representing Kenya in the U23 category at the World Championships. He achieved his first professional victories in 2007 while riding for the South African team "Konica Minolta" and joined the British team "Barloworld" in 2008.
Successes
Froome's breakthrough came in 2011 when he became the first African-born cyclist to reach the podium of a Grand Tour, finishing second in the Vuelta a España. In 2013, 2015, and 2016, he won the prestigious Tour de France, securing three victories in the general classification. Froome also won a bronze medal in the individual time trial at the 2012 Olympic Games.
Personal Life
In November 2014, Froome married Michelle Cound, and they have a son named Kellan, born on December 15, 2015.
