Early Life and Family

Christopher Ryan Hardwick was born on November 23, 1971, in Louisville, Kentucky, to professional bowler Billy Hardwick and real estate agent Sharon Hills (née Faccente). His paternal grandfather, an Italian-American, owned the bowling alley where Chris's parents met. Hardwick was raised in the Catholic faith of his mother and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, attending St. Benedict School in Auburndale, Regis Jesuit High School in Colorado, and graduating from Loyola High School.

Education and Early Career

Hardwick earned a degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he joined the Chi Phi fraternity during his freshman year. His roommate was Wil Wheaton, whom he met at a screening of "Arachnophobia" in Burbank, California. Hardwick began his entertainment career as a stand-up comedian and podcaster, co-founding the podcast "The Nerdist Podcast" in 2005.

Television and Hosting

In 2011, Hardwick gained prominence as the host of AMC's "Talking Dead," a talk show discussing the popular zombie drama "The Walking Dead." He has since hosted various other television shows, including "Talking Saul" and "Talking Preacher."

Hardwick has appeared in numerous films and television series, including "Sister, Sister," "Chuck," "24," and "Thor: Ragnarok." He has also provided voice acting for animated films such as "Shrek Forever After" and "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted."

Hardwick was previously engaged to model and actress Jacinda Barrett and dated actress Janet Varney from 2004 to 2011. He was in a relationship with model and actress Chloe Dykstra from late 2011 to July 2014. On August 20, 2016, Hardwick married model, blogger, and actress Lydia Hearst, whom he had dated for two years. The couple welcomed a daughter, Dimity Faccente Hearst-Hardwick, in 2022.

Hardwick has been open about his past as an alcoholic and has been sober since October 8, 2003. In April 2015, he revealed that he has an allergy to onions.
