Biography of Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth, an Australian film actor, gained worldwide fame in 2011 when he appeared as the lead role in the Marvel superhero film "Thor". The portrayal of the god of thunder from Asgard, who regularly joins the Avengers - the team of Earth's heroes, became Hemsworth's signature role. He has played Thor in six Marvel films and has no plans to part with this character. In addition to this iconic role, Hemsworth has expanded his filmography with numerous other significant characters. Movies such as "Rush" (2013), "In the Heart of the Sea" (2015), and "12 Strong" (2018) showcased Hemsworth's acting skills alongside his good looks and athletic physique.

Chris Hemsworth, whose full name is Christopher Hemsworth, was born on August 11, 1983, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is the son of a social services consultant, Craig Hemsworth, and an English teacher, Leonie Hemsworth. His older brother, Luke, and younger brother, Liam, are also successful actors. Through his maternal grandfather, Hemsworth has Dutch roots, and he also has Irish, English, Scottish, and German ancestry.

During his childhood, Hemsworth spent most of his time in Melbourne, but his family also lived on Bulman Farm in the Northern Territory of Australia for a period of time. He attended Heathmont College, a secondary school located in a suburb of Melbourne. At one point, Hemsworth and his family lived on Phillip Island.

Hemsworth's physical appearance could have led him to a career in modeling, but he chose acting instead. In 2002, he made his television debut in the series "Guinevere Jones" and appeared in three episodes as King Arthur. In the same year, Hemsworth had small roles in the series "Neighbours" (1 episode) and "Marshall Law" (1 episode). In 2003, he had a guest appearance in an episode of the series "The Saddle Club", and in 2004, he appeared in an episode of the children's series "Fergus McPhail". In 2004, Hemsworth landed his first major role in the soap opera "Home and Away". From 2004 to 2007, he portrayed the character Kim Hyde, a handsome and daring lifeguard, appearing in 189 episodes.

In 2006, Hemsworth participated in the Australian version of the reality show "Dancing with the Stars" and finished in fifth place with his dance partner, Abby Ross. In March 2009, he made a life-changing decision and moved to the United States to further pursue his acting career. The move turned out to be successful, as in the same year, Hemsworth landed a role in J.J. Abrams' blockbuster sci-fi action film "Star Trek", a reboot of the famous space saga that began in 1966. While his role in "Star Trek" was small, it was significant as he portrayed George Kirk, the father of James Kirk (played by Chris Pine), who would later become the captain of the starship "Enterprise".

Hemsworth's career in Hollywood took off, and in his subsequent films, such as "A Perfect Getaway" (2009) and "Ca$h" (2010), he played more prominent characters. However, it was in February 2009 that Hemsworth received his biggest role to date. After initially failing the audition, he was given a second chance and ultimately secured the role of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film "Thor", directed by Kenneth Branagh, was released in 2011 and became a major hit, catapulting Hemsworth to worldwide fame.
Following the success of his standalone Thor film, Hemsworth appeared in various other films, including "The Cabin in the Woods" (2012), "The Avengers" (2012), "Snow White and the Huntsman" (2012), "Red Dawn" (2012), "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013), "Rush", "Thor: The Dark World" (2013), "Blackhat" (2015), "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015), "Vacation" (2015), "In the Heart of the Sea", "The Huntsman: Winter's War" (2016), "Ghostbusters" (2016), "Thor: Ragnarok" (2017), "12 Strong" and "Avengers: Infinity War" (2018). Hemsworth also gained popularity for his comedic short films titled "Team Thor" (2016) and "Team Thor: Part 2" (2017), which showcased Thor's whereabouts while Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) were dealing with their own conflicts in the film "Captain America: Civil War" (2016).
In 2019, Hemsworth reprised his role as Thor in the fourth installment of the Avengers franchise. He is also set to appear in the upcoming animated series "What If...?" and the film "Thor: Love and Thunder", both scheduled for release in 2021.
In terms of his personal life, Hemsworth dated his co-star from "Home and Away", Isabel Lucas, from 2005 to 2006. In early 2010, he began dating Spanish-American actress Elsa Pataky, and the couple got married on December 26 of the same year. Hemsworth and Pataky have three children together - a daughter named India Rose Hemsworth (born on May 11, 2012) and twin sons named Tristan and Sasha (born on March 21, 2014).
