Biography of Christopher Masterson

Christopher Masterson, an American actor, is best known for his role as Francis in the popular comedy series "Malcolm in the Middle." He was born in Long Island, New York, to parents Carol, a manager, and Peter Masterson, an insurance agent. Like his brother Danny Masterson from "That '70s Show," Christopher also has a significant Irish heritage. The Masterson brothers also share religious preferences as both practice Scientology.

Early Career and Film Roles

In Tom Stoppard's play "Arcadia," Christopher portrayed two roles, Gus and Augustus Coverly. In 1993, he played a small role in the film "Beethoven's 2nd." While his brother Danny had a more significant character in the film, their familial connection was not highlighted. However, after producers noticed the striking resemblance between Danny and Christopher upon reviewing the film, scenes featuring Christopher were re-shot.

In 2000, Masterson began dating actress Laura Prepon, who also worked with Danny Masterson on "That '70s Show." The couple moved in together in 2001. For a while, Christopher was considered a potential candidate for the role of Will Turner in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," but the role eventually went to Orlando Bloom.
