Christopher Andrew Pontius, known as Chris Pontius, was born on July 16, 1974, in Pasadena. After finishing school, he embarked on a journey around the world in search of adventures before gaining fame as a central member of the infamous daredevil crew that received mixed reactions, "Jackass."
Early Career
Driven by a constant desire to explore the world and derive enjoyment from life, Pontius turned his irresistible wanderlust into work. In the early 1990s, he began documenting his travels, and his humorous and extraordinary notes were published in "Big Brother Magazine." Soon, Pontius managed to meet and befriend the editor of the magazine, Jeff Tremaine.
Television Success
When the skateboarding publication conceived the idea of creating a television show featuring the most challenging and incredible stunts, adventure enthusiast Pontius proved to be the perfect "key component" for "Jackass." Of course, after its premiere on MTV in 2000, "Jackass" gained significant attention. However, for Pontius, participation in such a popular show was not enough, and he joined the team of a similar show called "CKY." Alongside Pontius, this show featured Bam Margera, Brandon DiCamillo, Ryan Dunn, and Chris Raab. The group quickly became close-knit and formed a literal big family.
Continued Success
After the original show stopped airing due to ongoing controversies, a fictional version of "Jackass" was filmed. Two years later, in 2003, Pontius returned to the screens, this time playing a supporting role in the movie "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." In the same year, Pontius became a member of another show similar in style to "Jackass," called "Wildboyz," alongside Steve-O. This new show involved the guys goofing off with animals.
Return to "Jackass"
After Pontius and Steve-O had tried all possible temptations, teasing predators, and ended up in the hospital several times, it was time to return to the beloved team of Johnny Knoxville and reappear on screens in the new show "Jackass 2" in 2006.
