Biography of Chris Robinson
Christopher Mark Robinson, better known as Chris Robinson, was born on December 20, 1966, in Marietta, Georgia. He is a vocalist and the frontman of the rock and roll band "The Black Crowes." Together with his brother, guitarist Rich Robinson, Chris Robinson founded the band "Mr. Crowe's Garden" in the 1980s. They were influenced by bands such as "Led Zeppelin," "The Faces," "The Allman Brothers," "The Rolling Stones," "The Byrds," "Sly," and "Family Stone." They played in numerous clubs in Atlanta and Georgia.
The Black Crowes
In 1989, the band "Mr. Crowe's Garden" changed their name to "The Black Crowes." They signed a contract with the "Def American" label and released their first album, "Shake Your Money Maker." The album was very successful, and the band embarked on a tour.
Chris Robinson's Solo Career
In May 1991, Chris Robinson was involved in an incident where he assaulted a female customer in a store called "7-11." He was arrested for the attack on the woman and for disorderly conduct. However, he was later acquitted and released after six months.
Chris Robinson's first solo recording, "The Red Road," became the soundtrack for Goldie Hawn's film "The Banger Sisters" in 2002. The material he started releasing as a solo artist was noticeably softer, and in October of the same year, he released his debut solo album, "New Earth Mud," which received positive reviews. The album, created with Paul Stacey, Marc Ford, and Eddie Harsh (his former bandmates from "The Black Crowes"), increased Robinson's popularity and reached the top of the charts. The band then changed their name to "New Earth Mud," the same as the album, and their incredible music resonated throughout the United States.
Comeback and Personal Life
After a long hiatus from performing, Chris Robinson returned to the stage with his brother Rich in February 2005. It was a private party for "Consumer Electronics" employees in Las Vegas. Later in late February, Robinson and Phil Lesh organized several "Mardi Gras Spectacular" concerts in San Francisco. Members of the bands "Railroad Earth," "Particle and Galactic," as well as former members of the "Jerry Garcia Band," joined them.
On August 14, 2006, news of Robinson's divorce appeared in the media after a six-month marriage. Just three months later, on November 17, 2006, Robinson filed all the necessary papers citing irreconcilable differences and diverging interests with his wife. However, he proposed himself as the custodian for their son, Ryder Russell Robinson, born on January 7, 2004. Almost a year later, in late October 2007, the divorce process was finalized, and Chris was awarded custody of their son.
