Christian Cueva: Peruvian Football Star

Early Life and Career

Christian Cueva was born in Trujillo, Peru. At the tender age of two, he moved with his family to Huamachuco, where his football journey began. He joined Club Universidad San Martín and made his professional debut in 2008, scoring his first goal against Universidad César Vallejo. In 2012, he switched teams to Universidad César Vallejo.

Rise to Stardom

In 2013, Cueva made a much-anticipated move to Unión Española in Chile. He played a pivotal role in the team's championship victory, defeating Colo-Colo in the final. His impressive performances earned him a loan move to Rayo Vallecano in Spain. There, he made his debut against Atlético Madrid but limited opportunities led him to the farm club, where he scored a hat-trick.

Return to Peru and International Success

In 2014, Cueva returned to Peru and joined Alianza Lima. He scored his first goal for the club against Inti Gas. The following season, he moved to Toluca in Mexico before signing for São Paulo in Brazil in 2016.

At the international level, Cueva represented Peru in the 2011 South American Under-20 Championship. He made his debut for the senior team against Japan at the Kirin Cup and was included in the squad for the 2015 Copa América, where he scored his first international goal against Brazil.
