Early Career

Uruguayan striker Gustavo Oscar Dos Santos began his professional football journey in 1987 with Basáñez, where he spent three seasons. In 1991, he joined Defensor Sporting for a year before making his move to Spain in 1992.

European Adventure

In Spain, Dos Santos signed with Albacete, where he made a significant impact, scoring 15 goals in 46 matches. He then transferred to Villarreal in the second division, where he appeared in 36 games and netted 12 times over two seasons.

Return to Uruguay

In 1996, Dos Santos returned to Defensor Sporting before embarking on a brief stint with Bolivian club Bolívar in 1997. He came back to Uruguay in 1998, joining Progreso.

Career Conclusion

Dos Santos ended his playing career in 1999 at Cerro, where he spent one season.

International Appearances

Dos Santos earned two caps for the Uruguay national team, making his debut against Poland on November 29, 1992. He did not score any goals during his international appearances.
