Early Life and Career

Christian Gentner is a German footballer who plays as a midfielder for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga. He has a brother, Thomas Gentner, who plays for Stuttgarter Kickers. Gentner began his football career at the youth academies of Boiren and Kirchheim before joining Stuttgart in 1999.

Debut with Stuttgart and Early Success

Gentner made his debut for Stuttgart's reserve team in the 2004/2005 season, making 28 appearances in the Regionalliga. He made his Bundesliga debut on February 20, 2005, in a 1-0 victory over Hertha Berlin. Gentner scored his first goal for Stuttgart on September 25, 2005, in a UEFA Cup match against Slovenian side Domzale. He extended his contract with Stuttgart in 2006 until 2010.

Loan to Wolfsburg and Permanent Transfer

On July 18, 2007, Gentner was loaned to Wolfsburg until the summer of 2009. On August 11, 2008, he signed a permanent contract with the "Wolves." Gentner made his Bundesliga debut for Wolfsburg on August 11, 2007, in a 1-3 loss to Arminia Bielefeld.

International Debut and Later Career

On May 19, 2009, Gentner was called up to the German national team for the first time. He made his international debut on May 29 in a match against China. Gentner returned to Stuttgart in 2012 and has remained with the club ever since.
