Premier of Madagascar

Christian Ntsay was appointed Prime Minister of Madagascar on June 6, 2018, and has held the position ever since.

Early Life and Education

Ntsay was born in Madagascar and earned a law degree from the University of Antananarivo. He also studied economics, management, and sociology at the same university. He continued his education in France, where he attended the Centre for Financial, Economic, and Banking Studies in Paris and Marseille.

Professional Career

Before entering politics, Ntsay held various positions in the private and public sectors. He worked as a junior auditor at Sud Marine Enterprise in Marseille and held administrative and financial roles at SECREN, a shipbuilding company in Madagascar. He also served as a national coordinator for an International Labor Organization (ILO)/UNDP project and as Managing Director of SOLIMA, an oil company in Madagascar.

International Development Work

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Ntsay became a consultant for international organizations such as the United Nations Development Program, World Bank, and ILO. He worked on projects related to employment, business development, and youth empowerment. He also served as the Executive Chairman of the organization "Enterprises for Madagascar."

Political Career

Prior to his appointment as Prime Minister, Ntsay held the position of Minister of Tourism in 2002-2003. In 2008, he became the ILO representative in several countries, including Madagascar, Mauritius, and the Seychelles. He also worked for the United Nations/UNDP before his appointment as Prime Minister.

Personal Life

Ntsay is married with two children. He is fluent in Malagasy, English, and French. He has authored publications on economics, finance, and entrepreneurship.
