Original Band Members and Early Recordings

The band Cyclone was formed in 2001, initially featuring the following members:

Oleg Kotsyurbiy - Vocals
Kostya Senko - Bass Guitar
Yaroslav Khabarov - Keyboards
Sascha Ozerchuk - Drums

In June 2001, the band recorded their first demo tape with three songs: "Strannik Pustoty," "Moja Zhizn," and "Tsiklon." Despite initial dissatisfaction with the recording, the band proceeded to record a new demo in November 2001.

Introduction of Alexei Kruchinin

Following the band's move to the DJKZ studio, musical disagreements between the vocalist and the other members arose, leading to the former's departure. Through the recommendation of Evgeny Kozlovsky, Alexei Kruchinin was auditioned and offered the role of frontman.

Internal Conflicts and Member Departures

After a single concert with the original lineup, Oleg Kotsyurbiy announced his departure. Consequently, the band began rehearsing with Kruchinin. However, conflicts among the remaining members resulted in the departure of the bassist and drummer.

Addition of Sergei Rodygin and Ilya Druzhinin

With the departure of the drummer, Sergei Rodygin stepped in from the band "Pastoral." Following a month of rehearsals, the band embarked on a search for additional musicians, exploring various options including Alex Carcass from "The Stranger."

Musical Evolution and Departure of Yaroslav Khabarov

In October 2001, after the dissolution of "Pastoral," Sergei Rodygin returned to "Cyclone" and brought along Ilya Druzhinin on bass guitar. The band performed old material with new arrangements and wrote new songs. However, the revised versions of the old songs faced criticism from BSB's art director. During a creative break in the countryside, the band realized the need to deviate from their previous musical style and establish their own unique sound. This period marked the birth of the song "Avtostop."

Loss of Sergei Rodygin and Search for New Drummer

Upon their return from the countryside, "Cyclone" rehearsed new material and performed several concerts at Zabriskie Point. However, Sergei Rodygin announced his departure, leaving the band to search for a competent replacement. Despite these challenges, the band persevered and began recording "Avtostop" in November.
