Cindy Adams, an American journalist and writer, is currently known for her work as a columnist for the "New York Post" and as a guest on the WNBC TV show "Sunday Today". Previously, she was a regular contributor to the "Live at Five" television program of the same network, but she left in March 2007.

Early Life and Career

Cindy Adams was born on April 24, 1925, in New York, USA. Her father left the family just one year after her birth. Her mother, Jessica Sugar, who worked for the New York Department of Water Supply, initially raised Cindy alone. However, she remarried insurance agent Harry Heller shortly after. Cindy attended Andrew Jackson High School but dropped out at the age of 15 without a diploma. Although she had the necessary knowledge, the administration insisted that she learn how to sew before considering her education complete.

After leaving school, she worked as a fashion model in the heart of Manhattan, New York. It was during a radio show that she met Joey Adams, and within a year, they were married on February 14, 1952, Valentine's Day. Joey Adams was a successful humorist writer who had a column in the "Long Island Press" and later in the "New York Post". They stayed together until Joey's death in 1999, but unfortunately, they did not have any children.

Writing Career

Cindy Adams is well-known as a writer and journalist. In 1965, she co-authored the first English-language biography of Indonesian President Sukarno and wrote a second book about him two years later. She also published biographies of Jolie Gabor, Lee Strasberg, and the Kennedy family. Additionally, she wrote a book titled "Jazzy, Fussy, and Me" about herself and her dogs. Her most recent book was published in 2007.

Career in Journalism

In 1970, Cindy Adams interviewed the Iranian Shah and Imelda Marcos, with whom she later became friends. She worked in the New York press and became Joey's colleague at the "New York Post" in 1979. In 1981, she became a co-host of the newspaper's column. She later worked for the TV show "A Current Affair" and made frequent appearances on the morning show "Good Morning America".
