Early Life and EducationAlice Motti Aldrovandi, a celebrated Italian harpist, was born into a musical family. At the tender age of nine, she embarked on her musical journey by taking up the harp. Her exceptional talent led her to the prestigious Turin Music Conservatory, where she studied under the renowned harpist Carolina Betti-Navone.
Illustrious Career
In the 1920s, Aldrovandi joined the distinguished Turin Opera Orchestra. Throughout her time there, she showcased her virtuosity as a soloist and performed alongside the renowned Turin Double Quintet. Her performances captivated audiences, solidifying her reputation as a masterful performer.
Soloist and Collaborator
During the 1930s and 1940s, Aldrovandi embarked on a successful solo career. She left a lasting legacy through her recordings, including her collaboration with legendary flutist Severino Gazzelloni on Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp with Orchestra.

Aldrovandi's artistry inspired numerous composers to create works specifically for her. Paul Hindemith dedicated his Sonata for Harp (1939) to her, while Nino Rota composed his Sonata for Flute and Harp (1937) and Concerto for Harp with Orchestra (1947) with her in mind.
