Life and Career
Colm Gilchrist, an Irish former professional snooker player, won the Irish Professional Championship in the late 1990s.
Snooker Career
Gilchrist competed on the main tour from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, achieving a peak ranking of 84 in the 2003/04 season. He reached the last 16 of the 2004 Irish Masters, one of his best results on the professional circuit.
Amateur Success
After leaving the main tour, Gilchrist continued to play successfully in the PIOS series. In 2008, he reached the final of the World Amateur Snooker Championship but lost 7-11 to Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. Gilchrist also achieved the tournament's highest break of 142 points.
Later Career
Gilchrist continues to compete in various amateur and pro-am tournaments. In 2010, he reached the semi-finals of the Irish Classic.
