George Alogoskoufis: Life and Career
Born in Athens, Greece in 1943, George Alogoskoufis is a renowned economist known for his contributions to the new institutional school. He earned his undergraduate degree from the National Technical University of Athens in 1969.
Education and Academic Appointments
Alogoskoufis pursued his graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, obtaining a Master's degree in 1971 and a Doctorate in Philosophy in 1975. He commenced his academic career at Brown University from 1973 to 1977, followed by the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as a professor from 1983 to 1992. Since 1992, he has been a professor at the University of California.
