Early Life and Club Career
Christian Benavente was born to Spanish-Peruvian parents and began his footballing journey at a young age. In 2002, he joined Real Madrid's youth academy, where he spent the majority of his formative years. After progressing through the ranks, he was promoted to Real Madrid Castilla in July 2013, making his Segunda División debut in August of that year.
In July 2015, Benavente signed a two-year contract with English club Milton Keynes Dons.
International Career
Eligible to represent Peru through his mother's nationality, Benavente made his debut at youth level with the Peruvian U-17 and U-20 teams. He shone at the 2013 South American Youth Championship, scoring goals against Uruguay and Venezuela.
His performances earned him a call-up to the senior Peru national team, where he made his debut in a friendly against Mexico in April 2013. He scored his first international goal against Panama in June of the same year.
