Early Life and CareerDaina Gudzinevičiūtė was born in Lithuania and pursued a law degree from Vilnius State University. As a member of the USSR national team, she excelled in trap shooting, winning two gold medals at the 1988 European Championships and a world title in 1989.
Olympic Glory
After Lithuania regained independence, Gudzinevičiūtė represented her nation in multiple Olympic Games. In 2000, she achieved her greatest triumph by becoming the first Lithuanian woman to win an Olympic gold medal. At the Sydney Games, she set two records in trap shooting: 71 points in qualification and 93 points in the final. Her second record remains unbroken.
