24 May 1998, London, EnglandDaisy Edgar-Jones was born to Wendy Edgar, a Northern Irish film and television editor, and Philip Jones, a Scottish television executive. Growing up in Muswell Hill, North London, Daisy's parents became her closest friends and introduced her to the arts. From early on, she exhibited a passion for performing, winning a figure-skating competition dressed as Macavity from "Cats" and debuting in a school play in fifth grade.
Education and Early Roles
Daisy excelled academically at The Mount School and Woodhouse College. Despite her academic success, she decided to pursue acting rather than attending university. She honed her craft at the National Youth Theatre, where she played Juliet in a stage production of "Romeo and Juliet." At age 17, she signed with ITV and made her first television appearance in the sitcom "Outnumbered."
Rise to Stardom with "Normal People"
Daisy's career took a significant turn in 2019 when she landed the lead role in the BBC Three drama series "Normal People." As Marianne Sheridan, Daisy delivered a critically acclaimed performance that earned her multiple award nominations, including Golden Globes, Emmys, and BAFTAs.
