Biography of Daley Blind
Daley Blind is a Dutch football player who currently plays as a midfielder for Ajax in Amsterdam. He was born on March 9, 1990, in Amsterdam, to parents Ivonne and Danny Blind. His father, Danny, is a former football player for Sparta Rotterdam and Ajax.
Early Life and Career
From a young age, Daley showed a talent for football and was taken into the youth section of AFC Ajax in Amsterdam. In June 1998, he joined the youth academy of Ajax, progressing through all the youth teams before being promoted to the club's reserve team in 2007.
On March 29, 2007, Daley signed his first professional contract with Ajax, which would run until July 1, 2010. In May of the same year, he represented the Netherlands in the Under-17 European Championship in Belgium. Despite scoring two goals in a match against Iceland, he suffered an injury and missed the rest of the tournament.
In June 2008, Daley was named the most talented young player at Ajax. Just a few months later, in August, he was promoted to the first team along with several other players. On December 7, 2008, he made his debut in the Eredivisie, coming on as a substitute in a match against Volendam. Ajax won the game 2-1, with Daley's presence on the field contributing to the team's victory.
Career at Groningen
In the second half of the 2009/2010 season, Daley played exclusively for Ajax's reserve team. However, in December 2009, Groningen expressed interest in taking him on loan. On January 4, 2010, Ajax and Groningen reached an agreement, and Daley joined Groningen on loan for the remainder of the season.
He made his debut for Groningen on January 20, 2010, in a league match against Heerenveen. Groningen secured a 2-0 home victory in that game.
Return to Ajax
After his loan spell at Groningen, Daley returned to Ajax. He continued to play for the club, making appearances in both the Eredivisie and the UEFA Cup. In December 2019, he extended his contract with Ajax until July 1, 2022.
