Early Life and Career

Damien Le Tallec, a French footballer, emerged from the ranks of FC Havre, following in the footsteps of his elder brother. In 2005, he joined the academy of Stade Rennais FC, where he signed a professional contract in 2007. However, he failed to make his debut in the French league during his two seasons at Rennes, remaining on the sidelines.

Career Abroad

In the summer of 2009, Le Tallec sought to leave Rennes and pursue a professional career elsewhere. Initially targeting Spanish club Valencia CF, a deal fell through at the last moment. Subsequently, German clubs Hertha BSC and VfB Stuttgart expressed interest, but no concrete offers materialized.

Transfer to Borussia Dortmund

On August 8, 2009, Damien signed a three-year contract with Borussia Dortmund. He made his Bundesliga debut on October 18 in a home match against VfL Bochum, which Dortmund won 2-0. Coming on as a second-half substitute for Nelson Valdez, Le Tallec played the entire second 45 minutes. He featured in a total of four Bundesliga matches during his first season.

Subsequent Career

In the 2010-2011 season, Le Tallec predominantly played for Dortmund's second team, Borussia Dortmund II.

Family Connection

Damien's older brother, Anthony Le Tallec, is a former Liverpool FC player who currently represents AJ Auxerre.
