Damir Kamaltdinov is a former Soviet and Tajik football player and a current football coach. He was born on [birthdate] in [birthplace].
Early Life and Career
Kamaltdinov began his football career playing for the Tajik Institute of Physical Culture's student team. After graduating from college in 1985, he joined the Vakhsh football club, where he played 21 games in 1986. The following year, he moved to Pamir football club and made his debut in an away game against Rostselmash, playing the full 90 minutes. However, his career took a downturn due to military service and a subsequent injury. In 1989, he suffered a meniscus and ligament tear while playing against Dynamo Kyiv's reserve team. Shortly after recovering, he experienced a cruciate ligament tear in his knee during his next game. As a result, he returned to Vakhsh in 1990.
Later Playing Career
In the 1990s, Kamaltdinov played for Pamir and Dynamo Dushanbe football clubs. In 1996, he briefly played for Batyr before retiring from active competition. Following his retirement, he transitioned into coaching.
Coaching Career
From 1998 to 2005, Kamaltdinov served as the head coach of CSKA-Pamir football club. In 2005, he became the first coach in Tajikistan to voluntarily resign. Since 2006, he has been the head coach of the Tajikistan national futsal team.
Personal Life
In 1992, Kamaltdinov got married to Albina Kamaltdinova. They have four children named Ali, Guli, Askar, and Amina.
