Early Life and Swedish Hockey Career
Born in Sweden, the talented forward began his hockey career with Leksands IF in 1969. He quickly became a key player for the team, helping them win three consecutive Swedish Championships from 1973 to 1975.
International Success with the Swedish National Team
From the mid-1970s, he established himself as one of the leading players on the Swedish national team. He participated in six World Championships and the 1976 Canada Cup, making significant contributions to the team's success.
North American Adventures in the WHA and NHL
In 1976, he crossed the Atlantic to play in the World Hockey Association (WHA) for the Winnipeg Jets. After two seasons, he signed with the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League (NHL). Over four seasons with Detroit and the Calgary Flames, he amassed 144 points in 268 games.
Return to Sweden and Legacy
After his NHL stint, he returned to Leksands IF from 1982 to 1988. During the 1983/84 season, he emerged as the Swedish Elite Series's top scorer. He retired from playing in 1988, leaving an indelible mark on Swedish hockey.
Honors and Accolades
In recognition of his achievements, he was named among the 93 greatest Swedish hockey players of all time. He currently serves as the European scout for the New Jersey Devils in the NHL.
