Dana Barron (born April 22, 1966) is an American film and television actress. She is best known for her role as Audrey Griswold in the films 'National Lampoon's Vacation' and 'Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure'.

Early Life and Career

Barron was born in New York City, New York, to actress Joyce McCord and commercial director Robert Barron. She comes from a family of actors, with her grandfather being an opera singer and her mother pursuing an acting career in New York. Her sister, Allison, also started acting at a young age in television commercials, which inspired Dana to pursue acting as well.

Barron began her acting career at the age of 10, starting with television commercials. At 11 years old, she appeared in the Broadway production of 'Hiden and Seek' alongside Christine Baranski. Her first role in a feature film was in the slasher film 'He Knows You're Alone', where she acted alongside Tom Hanks.

Breakthrough Role as Audrey Griswold

In 1983, Barron landed one of the lead roles in the comedy film 'National Lampoon's Vacation', portraying the character of Audrey Griswold. This role became iconic, and Barron was the first actress to bring Audrey to life. The film has since become a genre classic.

After 20 years, Barron reprised her role as Audrey in the NBC television movie 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure'.
