Early Career

Karting Success:

In 2001, Dani Clos won the Catalan region of the Spanish ICA Junior Championship. He also beat the brother of his future Formula 3 Euro Series rival, Oliver Campos-Hull.

2002 and 2003 Achievements:

In 2002, Clos triumphed in the Copa Campeones Trophy and placed 10th in the Italian Open Masters. In 2003, he claimed victory in the prestigious Andrea Margutti Trophy, the MGM Racing Birel, and the Spanish ICA Junior Championship.

Formula Racing

Formula Junior 1600:

In 2004, Clos transitioned to single-seater racing in the Formula Junior 1600 Championship, where he finished fourth with one win and four podiums.

Formula Renault 2.0:

For 2005, Clos participated in both the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Italian Formula Renault 2.0. While he struggled in the Eurocup, finishing outside the top 10, he was more successful in the Italian series, taking two second-place finishes and placing 16th overall.

Formula Renault 3.5:

In 2006, Clos joined Jenzer Motorsport in both the Eurocup Formula Renault 3.5 and Italian Formula Renault 3.5. He claimed seven podiums in the Eurocup, including three victories. In the Italian series, he won eight of the last nine races to secure the championship title by 36 points.

Formula 3 Euro Series

2007 Season:

Clos made the step up to the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2007 with Signature-Plus. He finished 13th with 13 points, with a best result of fourth at Barcelona.

2008 Campaign:

In 2008, Clos moved to Prema Powerteam and struggled to match his previous season's results, finishing 14th with 16.5 points. He secured two podiums at Pau and Le Mans.

GP2 Series and Williams F1 Testing

2009 Season:

On February 8, 2009, Clos signed with Racing Engineering for the 2009 GP2 Season.

Formula 1 Testing:

In September and December 2008, Clos participated in Formula 1 testing with the Williams team at the Jerez circuit in Spain.
