After reproducing the brochure, Dani encountered a small problem - she didn't have a phone number, nor a phone for that matter. And it did for Dani, in the form of a guy from the telephone company who provided her with voicemail for $15. Next, Dani sent her advertisement to the first potential customers. Forty people expressed interest in purchasing the product. Overwhelmed and not expecting such a surge in business, Dani had to quickly sort out her non-existent mailing address and order the product from the company. As she continued to send out more advertisements, the number of potential buyers grew. Simultaneously, Dani sold the weight loss product at retail, straight from the trunk of her car. Her business grew stronger with each passing day. In the first year, Johnson made a quarter of a million dollars. By the second year, she became a millionaire and opened 18 weight loss centers across the country. In 1996, she sold her business, becoming a multimillionaire.
