Biography of Danielle Scott-Arruda
Danielle Scott-Arruda, born on October 1, 1972, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is an exceptional American athlete, a talented and experienced volleyball player, and a recipient of numerous awards. She has participated in multiple Olympic Games.
Early Life and Education
Danielle Scott-Arruda attended Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge, where she gained invaluable experience in both volleyball and basketball. Her parents, Charles and Vera, always supported Danielle in her endeavors and were proud of her achievements in sports. Besides Danielle, the family consists of two other children, her brother Charles and sister Stephanie.
Success in Volleyball
The year 1993 proved to be particularly fruitful for Danielle Scott-Arruda. During that time, she was not only named the National Player of the Year but also recognized as one of the best by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. In the same year, Danielle led her team to the NCAA National Championship and won the prestigious Honda Sports Award as the college's top player.
College Career
Danielle Scott-Arruda excelled in both volleyball and basketball during her college years. She achieved numerous honors and accolades in both sports. Some of her notable accomplishments include winning a bronze medal at the Pan American Games, finishing eighth at the FIVB World Grand Prix, earning a silver medal at the NORCECA Championship, winning a bronze medal at the FIVB World Cup, capturing a gold medal at the NORCECA Zone Championships, and representing her country in the Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004. She also won a silver medal at the Montreux Volley Masters and a gold medal at the FIVB World Championship Qualifying Tournament, among many other tournaments.
