Blue began his acting career in theater, participating in a prestigious apprenticeship program at the Actors Theatre of Louisville, where he honed his skills alongside renowned artists like Jennifer Hubbard and Sullivan Canaday White. He also received a scholarship to study at the British American Drama Academy, but his burgeoning career prevented him from attending.

Blue's breakout role came in the TV series "Ugly Betty," where he played the photographer Cliff Paul. Before that, he appeared in various films, including "Veronica Mars" and the popular Disney Channel sitcom "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody."
