Joining BioWare and Writing Success

In 1999, Gaider was introduced to BioWare executives by his friend, Calvin. Initially hesitant, Gaider found himself unemployed after the hotel he managed changed ownership the next day. He decided to pursue game development. His first project was writing the script for "Baldur's Gate 2." He also worked on characters in "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic."

Gaider eventually became lead writer for "Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark" and the highly successful "Dragon Age" series. After the success of "Dragon Age: Origins," Gaider ventured into book writing, expanding upon the game's lore.

"Stolen Throne" and "The Calling"

His novel "Stolen Throne," a heroic fantasy with dark elements, revolved around Prince Maric's coming-of-age and his struggle for the throne. The sequel, "The Calling," embraced a darker tone, featuring a quest-driven narrative set in a dark fantasy world. Gaider also contributed to the comic book series set in the same universe.

Departure from BioWare and Beamdog

In 2016, after seventeen years with BioWare, Gaider left the company to join Beamdog as Creative Director.
