Early Life and High School CareerDavid Neville was born on June 1, 1984, in Maryville, Missouri. He began making a name for himself in track and field while attending Maryville High School, setting records and winning major competitions. As a senior, he was crowned the Indiana State Champion in the 400-meter dash and earned a silver medal at the Junior Pan-American Games. His exceptional performances drew attention from college coaches who saw him as a rising star.
College Career at Indiana University
Neville graduated high school in 2002 and enrolled at Indiana University, where he became a standout athlete for the Hoosiers. In 2004, he finished seventh at the NCAA Outdoors Championships and placed in the top three at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Neville's blazing speed in the 200-meter dash made him one of the nation's fastest freshman sprinters.
2005 Season: Big Ten Champion
2005 saw Neville's continued success on the track. He won the Big Ten Outdoor Championship in the 400-meter dash and took second in the Big Ten 200-meter race with a time of 21.05. Neville also competed in the first round of the USA Outdoors Championships, finishing in fifth place.
