Biography of David Thomas Rees
David Thomas Rees is an American cartoonist and humorist, best known for his works that combine neutral clip art with provocative, sometimes offensive statements. His comics have gained wide popularity, although they have also sparked some controversy.

Early Life and Education
David Rees was born on June 22, 1972, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. During his childhood, he was an avid reader of the comic strip 'Rex Morgan, M.D.'. He attended Oberlin College and drew comics for the school newspaper.

Inspiration and Career
Part of the inspiration for his office humor came from his own experience working in the basement for the corporation 'Citicorp'. He later fact-checked for magazines such as 'Maxim' and 'Martha Stewart Weddings' until he was fired. Currently, Rees resides in Beacon, New York.
'Get Your War On' and Other Works
Rees' most famous and controversial work is 'Get Your War On', a series of comics that cover various political topics, ranging from the 9/11 terrorist attack and the war in Afghanistan to the colonization of Mars and military spending. He is also the author of comics such as 'My New Fighting Technique is Unstoppable', 'My New Filing Technique is Unstoppable', and 'Adventures of Confessions of Saint Augustine Bear'.
Online Presence and Artisanal Pencil Sharpening Service
Since May 2005, Rees has maintained his blog on 'The Huffington Post'. In July 2010, he announced the creation of his 'Artisanal Pencil Sharpening service', where anyone can send their pencils to be sharpened by him for just $35, or order hand-sharpened pencils. Furthermore, on April 16, 2012, Rees published the book 'How to Sharpen Pencils', which delves into the art of pencil sharpening.
