Early Life and Career
David Kownacki, a Polish striker, was born in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland. He began his football journey with local club Gorzów Wielkopolski before joining the Lech Poznań academy in 2005.
Professional Debut and Domestic Success
On December 6, 2013, Kownacki made his Polish Ekstraklasa debut against Wisla Krakow. His first goal for Lech came on April 21, 2014, against Pogoń Szczecin. In 2015, he contributed to Lech's Ekstraklasa triumph and Polish Cup victory.
European Breakthrough and Sampdoria Transfer
On October 22, 2015, Kownacki netted a goal against Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa League. His performances caught the attention of Italian club Sampdoria, who announced his transfer on July 11, 2017.
Serie A Debut and International Career
Kownacki made his Serie A debut on September 30, 2017, against Udinese. He scored his first goal for Sampdoria on October 21 against Crotone. In 2017, he represented Poland at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where he scored against Sweden.
