Biography of Don Sho
Don Sho, a 48-year-old American woman, has become an inspiration to many with her resilience and self-acceptance. From a young age, Don faced numerous health challenges, including a tumor near her trachea which led to the removal of part of her jaw. Despite undergoing a series of cosmetic surgeries, Don decided to no longer seek further corrections, accepting herself for who she is.
Growing up in Grapeview, Washington, Don experienced bullying and mockery due to her appearance. However, she never let these hurtful comments define her. With the support of her parents and her own self-belief, she remained confident in her individuality and abilities. Don firmly believes that individuals should not be judged solely based on their physical appearance and that kindness towards oneself is crucial.
Don's search for love and acceptance proved to be challenging, as she struggled with emotional dependencies. Eventually, she overcame these obstacles and met her future husband, Ian, while working on a theater production. They will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in September 2015.
Passionate about writing, Don published her autobiography, titled "Facing Up To It," in 2005. She shares her life story with the aim of inspiring others to embrace their uniqueness and challenge societal norms. Don also delivers speeches at schools, advocating against bullying and encouraging individuals to speak up about their experiences.
Don believes that everyone deserves respect and that a simple act of kindness can make a significant impact on someone's life. She emphasizes the importance of self-respect and pursuing hobbies and interests. Don, an avid lover of Icelandic horses and a black belt holder in martial arts, remains active and engaged in various activities.
Determined to change the perception of facial differences, Don actively participates in campaigns that promote inclusive language and challenge the use of derogatory terms. She advocates for embracing diversity and believes that everyone deserves to be seen beyond their physical appearance.
Reflecting on her journey, Don acknowledges the label of bravery that others often place upon her. However, she sees it as a natural part of her life. Despite occasional negative encounters, she continues to live her life fully, inspiring others to do the same.
