Biography of Denis Boyko

Early Career

Denis Boyko is a Ukrainian football player and goalkeeper for the club "Dynamo" (Kyiv) and the Ukrainian national team. He joined the youth academy of Dynamo Kyiv at the age of 6 and started playing professionally for Dynamo-3 and Dynamo-2 in 2005. In the 2007/08 season, he was loaned to CSKA Kyiv. In the summer of 2009, he went on loan to the newly promoted Premier League team, Obolon Kyiv.

Dynamo Kyiv

In February 2010, Boyko was included in Dynamo Kyiv's squad for the Ukrainian Premier League. He made his debut on May 9, 2010, in a match against Metalist Kharkiv, which ended in a 3-0 victory for Dynamo Kyiv. Boyko became the first-choice goalkeeper for Dynamo Kyiv and played a crucial role in the team's success.

Loan Spells and Success with Dnipro

From 2011 to 2012, Boyko went on loan to Krivbas Kryvyi Rih. After the loan spell, he signed a permanent contract with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. Boyko became the first-choice goalkeeper for Dnipro and helped the team achieve bronze medals in the Ukrainian Premier League in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons. He also played a key role in Dnipro's journey to the final of the UEFA Europa League in the 2014/15 season.

Move to Besiktas and Loan to Malaga

In January 2016, Boyko transferred to Turkish club Besiktas. However, he struggled to secure a regular starting position and was eventually loaned to Spanish club Malaga in August 2016. Despite working under his former coach from Dnipro, Juan de Ramos, Boyko struggled to establish himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Malaga.

Return to Dynamo Kyiv

In February 2018, Boyko returned to Dynamo Kyiv on loan. He immediately became a key player for the team and played 19 matches in various competitions. Boyko's performances at Dynamo Kyiv also earned him a recall to the Ukrainian national team.

Career in National Team

Boyko made his debut for the Ukrainian national team on November 18, 2014, in a match against Lithuania. He was included in the squad for the UEFA Euro 2016 but did not make any appearances. Boyko was recalled to the national team in August 2021 for the World Cup qualifiers.

Despite facing setbacks and injuries throughout his career, Denis Boyko has established himself as a talented goalkeeper and has represented top clubs in Ukraine and abroad. He continues to be an important player for both Dynamo Kyiv and the Ukrainian national team.
