Early Life and Career
Artem Golaydo is a former Ukrainian footballer who played as a midfielder. Born and raised in Crimea, he was a product of the Olympic Reserve School in Krasnolesye, where he honed his skills in the academy.
Debut and International Recognition
Golaydo made his debut for Tavriya Simferopol in the Ukrainian Premier League at the age of 17 under the guidance of Anatoly Zayaev. He quickly became a key figure for the club and earned his first cap for the Ukrainian national team in 2008, providing an assist to Andriy Shevchenko in a friendly match against Serbia.
Injury and Setbacks
In November 2008, Golaydo suffered a broken collarbone during a Ukrainian Cup match against Metalist Kharkiv. The injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. Despite being a regular starter in the past, Golaydo was unexpectedly relegated to the reserves by new manager Valeriy Petrov. However, he was reinstated to the first team before the final match of the autumn season against Vorskla Poltava.
Transfer to Metalurh Donetsk
In December 2010, Golaydo signed a three-year contract with Metalurh Donetsk. He remained with the club until December 2013 when he was released by mutual consent.
Return to Crimea and Retirement
After leaving Metalurh Donetsk, Golaydo returned to Crimea and joined TSK Simferopol. He scored a goal in his debut match in the Crimean Premier League. Following Crimea's annexation by Russia, Golaydo acquired a Russian passport. He retired from professional football in July 2017.
Post-Retirement Career and Achievements
Since retiring as a player, Golaydo has worked for the Crimean Football Federation as the head of the competition committee. He was also a member of the Putin Team movement during the 2018 Russian presidential election, supporting Vladimir Putin.
Among his achievements, Golaydo won the Ukrainian Cup with Tavriya Simferopol in the 2009/10 season.
