Early Life and FamilyDennis Crosby was an American singer and member of the vocal group 'The Crosby Boys'. He was born on July 13, 1934, in a family of Bing Crosby, a famous singer and actor, and his first wife Dixie Lee, who was also an actress and singer. Dennis had a twin brother named Phillip Crosby, and they were the middle children in the family. They also had an older brother named Gary and a younger brother named Lindsay. Despite growing up in a wealthy family, Dennis and his siblings suffered from the neglect, physical and emotional abuse from their father, who portrayed a different image in public.
Music Career
Dennis and his brothers formed a vocal quartet called 'The Crosby Boys' in the late 1950s. They performed in nightclubs and on television, often appearing on 'The Ed Sullivan Show'. However, Dennis expressed his desire to avoid the public spotlight. Eventually, he decided to work in his father's company, 'Bing Crosby Productions'.
Personal Life
In May 1958, Dennis married Pat Sheehan, a dancer and model from Las Vegas. She had previously dated Dennis's father. They had three sons together. However, their marriage ended in divorce. Dennis then married Arleen Newman in 1964 and had two daughters with her. He also adopted her daughter from a previous marriage. Unfortunately, their marriage also ended in divorce in 1991.
Tragic End
Dennis Crosby's life was marked by tragedy and personal struggles. His younger brother Lindsay committed suicide in 1989, which deeply affected Dennis. Coupled with his recent divorce and battling depression and alcoholism, Dennis took his own life on May 7, 1991. He died at the age of 56 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Novato, California.
