Biography of Dennis Hope
Dennis M. Hope, an American businessman, is widely known for his unique claim of ownership over the moon's surface. Born in the United States, Hope has always been an ambitious entrepreneur, constantly seeking new opportunities.

The Grand Act of Territorial Appropriation
In 1980, Hope made history by seizing unclaimed territories in the most remarkable act ever recorded in the history of Humanity and Space. He astutely discovered a significant loophole in the "Agreement on the Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies." Upon careful examination of the document, Hope realized that all restrictions on the appropriation of cosmic areas were limited to the national level, with no mention of private ownership.
With this revelation, Hope set out to privatize the moon, not subjecting it to "national appropriation". He meticulously prepared the necessary documents and submitted them to the relevant department responsible for such matters. Perplexed American officials could not find a valid reason to reject his claim. Hope then sent notifications to the United Nations, as well as the administrations of the United States, China, the Soviet Union, Canada, and other countries, asserting his ownership rights over the Moon and other planets, in accordance with international law.
The Lunar Business Venture
After waiting for three years, as advised by his lawyers, Dennis Hope began selling parcels of the Moon, dividing it into smaller pieces. In 1984, the United Nations attempted to halt Hope's "lunar enterprise" by proposing the "Moon Agreement." However, only a few countries signed the agreement, leaving Hope with the right to consider himself the legitimate owner of the Moon and other celestial bodies. He has since continued his successful "lunar" business.
The price of lunar plots in the United States is relatively low, at just $18 for a standard one-acre plot. For Russians, Hope offers larger plots, measuring 177.7 acres (72 hectares), as a special exception to acknowledge Russia's invaluable contributions to space exploration and development. It is estimated that over 3,470,072 people have claimed extraterrestrial territories through representatives of Hope's enterprise in more than 180 countries worldwide.
Pride and Challenges
Dennis Hope takes great pride in his business venture but acknowledges that there have been some minor setbacks. He states, "Undeniably, like any other business, there are always dissatisfied customers. Since 1980, we have had 73 cases of returns. Considering we have sold 3.4 million plots, I believe it's a remarkable success."
Currently, Mr. Hope is occupied with the creation and proclamation of the Lunar Republic, as well as promoting it within the United Nations. To become a citizen of the Moon, one simply needs to purchase a plot and obtain the corresponding documentation. For the skeptical, a passport is also available for an additional fee.
