Childhood and Early Life
Danelia Askarovna Sadykova, aka Dequine, was born on January 2, 2000, in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. In 2013, she moved to Almaty to attend a strict Kazakh-Turkish lyceum, where she faced restrictions on her freedom and creativity. However, she excelled academically and participated actively in debates and sports.
Discovering Music
At age 13, Dequine's cover of Jah Khalib's song on Instagram gained her recognition. She began aspiring to pursue music and dropped out of school to focus on her passion.
Rise to Fame
In 2018, Dequine released her debut EP, "P'yanaya Vishnya." After a successful concert in Astana, she realized her music was resonating with audiences. In 2019, she participated in the TV show "Pesni" but declined a contract due to creative restrictions. Her first solo concert at the "16 Tonn" club was met with overwhelming support.
Labum Album and Contract Troubles
Dequine signed with Warner Music in late 2019 for the release of her album, Labum. The album featured hit tracks such as "Shramy" and "Zhiva" and was produced by renowned artists M'Dee and Ali Yesimov. Despite receiving a substantial fee for the album, Dequine faced blackmail and threats from an unknown fan.
Toxic Relationships and Personal Struggles
During her teenage years, Dequine experienced a toxic relationship with a man who controlled her and eventually caused her to leave home and seek solace in religion. In 2020, she came forward about sexual harassment she had endured from two Almaty rappers, leading to a period of depression and emotional distress. She also learned about childhood abuse experienced by her cousin.
Current Career
In 2021, Dequine collaborated with rapper Aidos Dose Djumalinov on the track "Veter." She performed on the popular Russian TV show "Evening Urgant" and continues to release new music, inspiring fans with her authenticity and commitment to women's empowerment.
