The seeds of Children of the Sun were sown with a rebellious spirit and a thirst for sonic revolution. Their early performances echoed the raw energy of LAIBACH and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, featuring shattered guitars and a barrage of political leaflets.
Facing Opposition: Accusations and Canceled Shows
Children of the Sun's uncompromising sound and political stance drew both admiration and backlash. Detractors accused the band of neo-fascism and excessive aggression towards audiences. This led to canceled shows at venues like Club Moloko, who deemed the band's performances "too explosive."
Rising Despite Adversaries: Performances and Collaborations
Undeterred, Children of the Sun continued to perform, leaving a mark on various clubs and city-wide events. They shared the stage at the "Singing Nevsky VI" festival and the "IV International Festival named after Sergei Kurekhin," where they met Andrey Tropilo, who sponsored and released their album "Propaganda."
International Recognition and Tribute Contributions
In 2001, Children of the Sun collaborated with THEODOR BASTARD on a cover of PIGFACE's "Satellite" for a Chicago tribute album. The band also placed third in the "Singing Nevsky-VIII" festival, but political censorship denied them a performance in the finals.
A New Chapter: Radical Sonic Reinvention
Today, Children of the Sun are hard at work on a new album, which promises a radical departure in audio processing and mastering. Their determination to push musical boundaries remains as strong as ever.
