Biography of Dick Trickle

Dick Trickle, an American race car driver, was born on October 27, 1941, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, USA. As a child, he suffered a serious accident, falling from the second floor and fracturing both of his legs. He spent a long time in the University of Wisconsin hospital, where his slow recovery led doctors to believe he might never walk normally again. However, a visit to Crown Speedway sparked Trickle's passion for racing, and he was determined to pursue it despite his physical limitations. After six months, Trickle was able to walk again, albeit with a noticeable limp.

At the age of 13, Trickle began working in his father's store. By the time he was 16, he had saved enough money to buy a used 1950 Ford. He modified the car himself and started participating in short track races in Wisconsin and neighboring states. This marked the beginning of his remarkable success in the racing world.

It would be impossible to list all the races Trickle competed in or the victories he achieved. However, his participation in prestigious professional competitions such as ASA, ARTGO, ARCA, All Pro, IMCA, NASCAR, USAC, and USAR Hooters Pro Cup held great significance. He accumulated numerous wins in these series, including exhibition races in the Winston Cup NASCAR series, where he won two official races and held the record for the most victories. Trickle also claimed 32 wins in the ASA series, 68 wins in the ARTGO series, 6 wins in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup series, and 2 wins in the USAC series. On short tracks alone, Trickle competed in over 2,200 races and won 1,500 of them, solidifying his nickname as the "winningest driver."

Currently, Dick Trickle lives with his wife, Darlene, in a large estate in North Carolina. He owns a small auto shop and manages his own racing team.
