Early Career

Diego Tardelli started his football career at hometown club São Paulo. In 2004, he played a pivotal role in winning the São Paulo Junior Cup.

São Paulo Success

In 2005, Tardelli became São Paulo's top scorer in the state championship with 12 goals. He then achieved continental glory by winning the Copa Libertadores with the team, scoring two goals, including a decisive strike in the final against Atlético Paranaense.

European Stint and Return to Brazil

Tardelli was loaned to Real Betis in 2006, but returned to Brazil later that year due to disciplinary issues. He joined PSV Eindhoven on loan in 2006/07, helping them win the Dutch Eredivisie title. He subsequently won another Brazilian championship with São Paulo in 2007.

Flamengo and Atlético Mineiro

In 2008, Tardelli played for Flamengo as a regular starter. In 2009, he joined Atlético Mineiro, where he quickly established himself as one of the top scorers in the league.

International Debut and Accolades

Tardelli's impressive performances earned him a call-up to the Brazil national team in July 2009. He made his debut in a friendly against Estonia and played in three 2010 World Cup qualifiers. In 2009, he became the leading scorer in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A with 19 goals.
