Early Life and Influences
Dmitry "Bonchinche" Shashalevich was born on December 9, 1989, in Belarus. Despite limited childhood information, it's known that he began dancing at the age of 15. Inspired by rock music, piercings, and black clothing, he initially identified as a nonconformist.
However, his life changed when he saw a dance studio advertisement on television. Captivated by the art, he embraced breakdancing and the vibrant hip-hop culture, donning baggy pants that were popular among youth.
Dance Journey and House of Bonchinche
After honing his hip-hop skills, Shashalevich joined Team Detroit, a Belarusian group. He gained recognition in the Urban Dance championship. Later, his interest shifted to house, particularly after seeing Janet Jackson's music video.
In 2009, he began exploring voguing and walking, which revolutionized his approach to dance. He joined the renowned New York crew "The Legendary House of Ninja" in 2011. Due to the economic crisis in Belarus, Shashalevich relocated to St. Petersburg, Russia.
Inspired by the city's cosmopolitan atmosphere, he founded House of Bonchinche in 2011, a melting pot of artists from various disciplines, including dancers, photographers, designers, and DJs. The collective hosts parties and festivals showcasing their diverse talents.
