Biography of Dina Kuple
Dina Kuple, a Soviet and Latvian actress, was born on April 1, 1930, in Riga, to the family of Arvid Kuplis, a teacher. She studied at a secondary school in the small Latvian village of Alsunga, near Kuldiga. Later, she graduated from the theater department of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian State Conservatory in 1955.
Acting Career
Dina Kuple began her acting career at the Dailes Theater from 1955 to 1977. She also performed at the State Theater for Young Audiences of the Latvian SSR from 1955 to 1990. After the reorganization of the Youth Theater, she returned to the Dailes Theater in 1991 and continued to perform on its stage. Her contributions to the world of acting were recognized in a television film directed by Vija Bunka in 1980, which was featured in the second issue of the film magazine "Padomju Latvija" in 1981.
Honors and Personal Life
Dina Kuple was awarded the prestigious Berta Rumniece Theater Award in 1993 in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of theater. In 2008, she was honored with the highest Latvian award, the Order of the Three Stars, for her many years of artistic contribution. She was married to prominent musician and conductor Edgar Tons (1917-1967).
Legacy
Dina Kuple passed away on May 1, 2010, and was laid to rest at the Forest Cemetery in Riga. Her talent and dedication as an actress continue to inspire and influence the world of theater in Latvia.
