Origins and Early Years
DISTEMPER, a Moscow-based rock band, was founded on September 4, 1989, from the ashes of "Crisis Department." The founding members were NOSATY (guitar, vocals), BAY (drums), and KISEL (bass guitar). Their debut performance took place on November 2, 1989, at a vocational school near the Vodny Stadion.
Their music at the time was characterized by trash-core with influences from punk and New York hardcore. With this lineup, they recorded their first album, "Nightmare Dream," in 1991.
Emergence of DACENT and a Melodic Shift
In 1992, DACENT joined the band (guitar, vocals), bringing a more melodic touch to their music. His songwriting talents quickly produced hit songs. The album "Oy-Du-Du" was released in 1993, marking a shift in the band's geographical reach beyond Moscow.
Ska-Punk and the Formation of the Brass Section
"Город," released in 1995, showcased their evolution into ska-punk. The album was subsequently released on the KTR-Soyuz label, and individual tracks continue to appear on KTR's "Punk Revolution" compilations. The addition of ILICH (saxophone) in 1995 marked the beginning of the formation of a formidable brass section, which was completed in September 1998 with the inclusion of LYOHA (trumpet) and MAX (trombone).
Live Albums and a Mellow Turn
DISTEMPER became the last band to perform at the legendary R-Club on Volgogradsky Prospekt before its closure. In their expanded lineup, they recorded the live album "V Nature...Alyo Khorosh!" (1996) and the studio album "Face Control" (1997).
Continued Evolution and a New Era
By 1998, LYOHA and MAX had solidified their presence, and the band's sound had transformed into ska-punk with a brass section. Older songs took on a new vitality with this arrangement. They released their sixth album, "Nu Vsyo..." (1999), and subsequently replaced MAX with VASYA on trombone.

DISTEMPER continues to evolve with its current lineup:- BAY (drums)
