Jim Abrahams is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. He was born on May 10, 1944, in Shorewood, Wisconsin, USA. He studied at the University of Wisconsin. In 1969, he co-founded the theater group "Kentucky Fried" in Madison with his brothers Jerry and David Zucker. The creative trio soon moved to Los Angeles, where they directed the comedy film "Kentucky Fried Movie" in 1977.

Their subsequent works, characterized by satire and parodies of popular genres such as disaster movies, spy and police films, and war action films, gained considerable popularity. Some notable titles include "Airplane!", "The Naked Gun," and "Hot Shots."

Following the success of their collaborative projects, Jim Abrahams embarked on a solo career. He directed the film "Big Business" in 1988 and served as the executive producer for John Waters' film "Cry-Baby" in 1990.
