Biography of Dmitry Bogomazov
Dmitry Bogomazov is a Ukrainian theater director and theater educator. He is a member of the National Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine.
Early Life and Education
Dmitry Bogomazov made his directorial debut in 1993 with the play "Charivnitsya," which received the theater award "Kyiv Pectoral." In 1995, he graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts, where he studied under Eduard Mitnitsky.
Career
Currently, Bogomazov works as a director at the Theater on the Left Bank of the Dnieper. In October 2001, he founded and became the head of the Kyiv theater "Vilna Scena," which merged with the Theater on the Left Bank of the Dnieper in 2012. Bogomazov also serves as a member of the jury for theater festivals and is the founder of the international festival "Theater Platform."
Awards and Recognition
Throughout his career, Dmitry Bogomazov has received numerous awards and recognition. In 1993, he was awarded the "Kyiv Pectoral" for his play "Charivnitsya." In 2007, he won the "Best Directing" award for the play "Queue" at the Kyiv Theater of Drama and Comedy on the Left Bank. In 2008, he received awards for "Best Chamber Play" and "Best Directing" for the play "Woman from the Past" at the "Vilna Scena" Theater. He has also been honored with the "Experiment" award and the Marjan Krushelnytskyi award.
