Pyotr Sidorovich Neporozhny
Pyotr Neporozhny was a prominent Soviet statesman who played a significant role in the development of the country's electrical industry.
Early Life and Education
Born on November 2, 1900, in Saint Petersburg, Neporozhny pursued a career in education after graduating from high school. He worked as a physics teacher and later as a draftsman and construction supervisor. In 1924, he graduated with a degree in engineering from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute.
Career at Elektrosila
After graduating from university, Neporozhny joined the Elektrosila factory in Leningrad. Over the years, he held various positions, including engineer, laboratory head, and technical department manager.
Incarceration and Return
In 1938, Neporozhny was arrested by the NKVD and subjected to investigation. Despite being imprisoned, he continued to work as a research group leader and laboratory head.
Post-War Career
In 1941, Neporozhny was released from prison and returned to Elektrosila. He became the plant's chief engineer and then deputy director. He also held prominent positions in the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute and the Ministry of Electrical Industry.
Minister of Electrical Industry
From 1951 to 1953, Neporozhny served as Minister of Electrical Industry of the USSR. During his tenure, he played a key role in the development of the country's electrical power grid and the production of heavy electrical equipment.
Later Career
After his term as minister, Neporozhny held various positions in the government and industry, including Deputy Chairman of the Bureau of Chemistry and Power Engineering and Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for the Use of Atomic Energy.

Death and Legacy
Pyotr Neporozhny passed away on November 27, 1960. He was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow. His contributions to the Soviet electrical industry continue to be remembered and honoured.
