Biography of Doreen Fox

Doreen Fox, a 79-year-old British pensioner, is possibly the oldest gamer in the world. She recently made headlines by stating that modern computer games lack real violence and cruelty. Additionally, she openly admits that sometimes while playing her favorite shooters, she kills "the wrong person," but she still enjoys it. Doreen resides in Dudley, West Midlands, in the United Kingdom. Her love for gaming began in the 1980s when she played "Mario" with her grandson. Since then, she has owned numerous gaming consoles. Currently, Doreen plays on Xbox, with her favorite game being the shooter "Call of Duty: Ghosts." In her free time, she also enjoys knitting and gardening, occasionally indulging in "Grand Theft Auto" after tending to her garden.

Doreen has experienced two strokes in recent years but believes that simply controlling a joystick is beneficial for her hand's physical therapy. Despite occasional doubts from neighbors and relatives about her mental state, Doreen assures them that she is perfectly fine and that computer shooters occupy and entertain her. She emphasizes that she doesn't crave bloodshed, nor is she a maniac or a killer. Furthermore, she firmly believes that the uproar surrounding the violence and harm in computer games is unnecessary.

Doreen's late husband also enjoyed spending time playing games, and she fondly recalls their laughter imagining what their neighbors thought of the sounds of gunfire and exploding projectiles coming from their apartment. Although her eyesight is not as good as it used to be, she sometimes mistakenly kills the wrong person while playing, but it doesn't bother her as the game continues to be the main source of enjoyment for her.

In reality, there are more elderly gamers than one would expect, but there is no precise statistics on the matter. However, Doreen could potentially hold the title of the oldest gamer in the United Kingdom, as she will turn 80 in a year. Some people argue that her fascination with virtual violence is a result of mental instability. Regardless, Doreen continues to play games and eagerly awaits new releases. When "Call of Duty: Ghosts" was released, she eagerly stood in line at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre for three hours. Needless to say, she was the oldest person in line, and those waiting assumed she was buying a gift for her beloved grandson, not anticipating that she would be playing the game herself later that day. By the way, Doreen still plays games with her 33-year-old grandson Gareth, just like old times.
