Born in 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Aaron Fotheringham is a truly unique individual. Some consider him the most inspiring extreme sports athlete of all time, as what he accomplishes on his wheelchair defies the conventional expectations of people with disabilities. The combination of the words "extreme" and "wheelchair" may seem improbable, but Aaron proves that nothing is impossible. The key is to have a strong desire and the strength and willpower to achieve it.

Early Life and Passion for Extreme Sports

Aaron first learned about wheelchairs at the age of 3 when his spinal condition started to manifest. Initially, he used crutches, but even as a child, his dream was to have a wheelchair and move on his own wheels. He fully transitioned to a wheelchair at the age of 8. His older brother was into BMX, and Aaron often observed him and other kids at the skate park. It was his brother who suggested that Aaron had wheels too and could try doing tricks. This was the moment when Aaron "got hooked" and began dreaming about extreme sports.

Developing Unique Tricks and Wheelchair Modifications

Drawing inspiration from skateboarders and BMX riders, Aaron started inventing tricks that were possible on a wheelchair. He also had to carefully consider the modifications of his wheelchair to withstand the impact. He collaborated with 'Box Designs' to create a custom-made lightweight wheelchair with four suspensions. The next step was extensive training, which involved countless falls, pain, and sometimes the temptation to give up and go with the flow. However, Aaron was not one to give up easily. He firmly believed in himself, his abilities, and most importantly, he knew that if he persevered, he would reach his goals.

Becoming a Remarkable Extreme Sports Athlete

After years of training, tears, and disappointments, Aaron became one of the most prominent and extraordinary extreme sports athletes in the world. He made such a loud statement that today, almost anyone interested in extreme sports knows Aaron Fotheringham. He is often referred to as "Wheelz," the nickname he has adopted, or the "crazy wheelchair guy" due to his mind-boggling stunts on his wheelchair. Recently, Aaron even performed a double backflip on his wheelchair. He continues to spend his time honing old tricks and inventing new ones at the skate park.

Achievements and Future Plans

Aaron has won numerous awards and has been featured in television shows and print reports. He has received grants from organizations like 'Century Software.' In 2010, Aaron joined the Nitro Circus Live Tour, a global tour where he showcased his tricks in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and America. It was during this tour that he successfully performed his famous double backflip on a wheelchair. No one had ever accomplished such a feat before, earning him a place in the Guinness World Records.

In his many interviews today, Aaron expresses that riding is both his passion and his job. He has no desire to do anything else and plans to develop the "coolest wheelchair in the world" in the future.
